I used to be able to do impressions and funny voices, etc. I was always surprised how much. people enjoyed it. And believe me I’m not as good as this guy.
Tough crowd... Not many laughs in this house.
I don't know why they are laughing so many times. I would be in tears hearing his sad story of neglected love. His heart ached throughout his life.
Speaks like he solos- loads of ideas - real stream of consciousness.
The impression I get is that he was a genuinely good man( besides being a comic)
Johnathan had 6 more years of life after this appearance. He had a long, wonderful life. 88 years old.
Even then performance so smooth..
👏🏾👏🏾
2:34 Getting into it there, this is some uber-level improvisation here. This is for the books! 🎻🎸I just had an ESL student named Noa from JP play this for me out of the blue with his ukulele, was just stumped with awe. Could be the next big one!
Yes, I think that in Vietnam, they talk all “up in the nose, and it’s perfect.” It drives me crazy. Can’t stand it.
He’s an impressionist, yeah, but don’t miss the fact that _he’s also essentially being a stand-up comedian here._
Best ones: Malkovich Reagan Randall Price W
I love his radio and album work the most.
Back many years ago I worked at a Porsche parts store. I went to pick up some parts at Merlin Olsen Porsche in the San Fernando Valley in Southern California and there was Jonathan Winters just ad libbing to whoever was there. I have come across a few other very famous comedians and they were very serious. He was just the same and as funny as you see him and know him from TV.
In the movie It's a Mad Mad World Jonathan Winters on that bicycle was the funniest part of that movie as far as I'm concerned. It was 😂
Jonathan was in the Marine Corps.
This man made millions of people laugh and forget their own problems. Meanwhile he survived such an unloving home. A misunderstood genius. Bless his soul.
Wow…still doing awesome improv, still doing the voices, still vibrant as EVER even into his old age! Most slow down yet NOT Jonathan Winters…definitely a true legend…😍❤️😂😁
When you watch, IT'S A MAD, MAD, MAD, MAD WORLD, keep in mind that Jonathan had been recovering at home from a nervous breakdown just weeks before filming. He was institutionalized for several months, but was at home then. Stanley Kramer the director called him and asked him to be in the film. Jonathan didn't think he could do it, but his wife encouraged him, along with (I think) another call from Kramer. This was in a biography I think. I apologize if I got anything wrong.
Here is an example of a man who has climbed to his highest self, both as a comedian, and as a human being. Even in old age he kept stoking the furnace, which still burned with love and spirit and soul. Jonathan‘s flesh may sag a bit but not his magnanimity
To say that he was a national treasure is a grotesque understatement. What a gift from God he was to all who heard and saw him. I love you, Jonathan, wherever you are!❤
I absolutely believe when God created Jonathan Winters, he broke the mold quickly afterwards! No other amazing and imaginative comical mind has ever come close to his both funny and serious sides of entertainment! God Bless You, Jonathan!🙏 The Angel's in Heaven are laughing their feathers off!😂🤣
That was so painful and yet funny to watch. Comedians often say their humour comes from the pain in their lives and many suffer from mental health and addiction issues. He was certainly someone who made the best life he could after a painful childhood and who shared things with us but reminded us that laughing every day helps to get us through. I loved him for his comedic genius and love him even more after watching this. He was a true gem.
If you ever have followed, this man’s career, you be able to hear all the comedic things he does, and says. He was a wonderful man, a true comedic genius. Rest in peace, Jonathan Winters. You have millions of fans. God bless you.
Gosh, I love this man!
Don't miss him in "The Loved One".
Hilarious as usual!
I still watch the UTUbE clips and laugh. His records are classic. He will always remain one of the best.
As a guest on Johnny Carson, for many years, he was hilarious and spontaneous, and made everyone laugh!
Jack Riley atheist and butt poker. Mr winters really did care about people
Thanks Jonathan Winters for all the laughs. ❤ RIP
The greatest.. love him
I'm 64 years old. I was watching this man when we lived in the trailer park. To this day his sharp quips always crack me up. God Bless You, Jonathan Winters.
Our parents rather we like them or not have a great affect on us. Obviously his parents had some feeling for him because he lived with them, but gosh they harmed him so. A child's heart is the most precious thing in this world second only to God, but Mr Winters heart was broken by his parents. Yet, he was this incrediable brave patriotic marine in WWII, the G.O.A.T of all comedians and his kids say he was a wonderful Dad. So he must've been extremely strong, and a man of faith. He was a incredible man.
It worked a lot better once he invented the Heisenberg compensator.
his scene in mad mad mad mad world where he destroyed the gas station is still the funniest thing ever funnier than the stooges, funnier than the marx bros and lightyears beyond jim carrey or anything today
13 years later and I’m finally watching this from my watch later List wondering now whatever happened to Marina
Wonderful man
Not bad ⚡️
Great and interesting performance that is magically executed!
Amazing!
I've seen him on film n TV What I dont remember I think he played a ass all the time
How has it taken UA-cam over ten years to show me this?!
This is insane... This blue ray is 3 hours. I had to order me a copy to watch.
He’s such a great teacher! Saw him the first time at Ravinia which is north of Chicago, in August of 1982, I was 15. I’ve seen Metheny half a dozen times over the years. Love how Pat teaches when he’s interviewed.
He was a treasure!
God bless the wife's
Hopalong Cassidy was from Columbus Ohio!! Went to Starling Jr High, then Central high. Has no idea J W looked up to Hopalong
He looks like Steve Martin, Sting, Jason Bateman, Clint Eastwood, Robin Williams all at the same time.
So many sounded the same.
Most abused children don't turn out this well.
